Peaceful and in community: Every year in May, the Global Marijuana March (GMM) takes place worldwide, usually on the first Saturday of the month. Because the legalization of cannabis is a topic that moves people all over the world! This event is also celebrated in numerous cities in Germany. From Hamburg to Munich, from Berlin to Cologne, people gather to demonstrate for the legalization of cannabis.
Demonstrating despite legalization?
The partial legalization of cannabis in Germany was a step in the right direction, but there are still numerous regulations in place that continue to exclude and condemn consumers. That's why it's important to continue showing strength and presence. This year's nationwide motto is "Shops not Cops!", and it makes the demand clear: complete legalization, including the ability to purchase cannabis in specialty stores, without further criminalization for minor offenses.
In recent years, the demonstrations of the Global Marijuana March in Germany have evolved into large gatherings, where people of diverse backgrounds come together for a common cause. In addition to traditional protest signs and chants, the GMM is also an opportunity for informative discussions, music, and the chance to meet like-minded people.
The call for comprehensive legalization of cannabis is not just about individual freedom, but also about sensible regulation and responsible handling of this substance. Participation in the Global Marijuana March is a way for people to advocate for their beliefs and bring about positive change together.
